Ed Boon, a Mortal Kombat egyik létrehozója a minap írta Twitterén, hogy a Mortal Kombat X a franchise eddigi legjobb rajtját vette, de nem részletezte, hogy ez mire is vonatkozik pontosan, mert eladási adatokat nem közölt. Az összes változatot (ebbe beleértvén az ingyenes mobilos kiadást) eddig több millióan próbálták ki online és bár a PC-s verzió eléggé nehézkesen működik, ki fogják javítani annak hibáit is.
