A tri-Ace 2013 végén indította be a fejlesztést a Star Ocean 5-tel kapcsolatban (tehát a PS4 megjelenése után), úgyhogy a Namco Bandai-nak még várnia kell arra, hogy PlayStation 4-re és PS3-ra is kiadja ezt a játékot, hacsak nem sürgetik meg a fejlesztőket, kockáztatván a minőséget. Egy halom kép azért a köznyilvánosság elé került, ez is valami azért. A jó munkához azért idő kell, úgyhogy 2016 vége felé talán elkészülnek a munkálatokkal…
